01) What type of data can i find on porto ?
Bibliographic data and full-text publications

 

02) Do all the papers have the full-text?
No, only the publications in which the author added the full text to the bibliographic description.

 

03) Are all these full-texts available?
No, you can only find the full texts the author decided to make open access according to the publishers' policies

 

04) How can I know if a full-text is open access?
Under “access to the document “appears the statement: VISIBLE

 

05) How can I know if a full-text is NOT open access?
Under “access to the document “ appears the statement: NOT VISIBLE

 06) How can I get the full text of a publication without the full text attached or in which the full text is not visible?
You can make a request to the author by clicking on the link Request a copy

 07) How can I view the list of publications that have open access full texts?
Looking for Fulltext type view -> Open Access Please note that there could be open access publications with both open attachments and no public access attachments

 08) I cannot login to access to the system. Why?
Login to this system is reserved only to administrators. Users of Turin Politecnico can make changes to their own publications in UGOV (see answer 10).

 09) What is the link [Local copy]?
You can only find this link in the not visible attachments that only operators and administrators can use

 10) What can be accessed by clicking on the link DOI or on the button Link Solver?
If you are an internal user and the article is published in a journal the university is subscribed to, you can click on the link DOI or link Solver button to get the full text

 11) How can I find my publications to which I attached a full text?
In “Advanced Search” you must search for Author and Attachments Accessibility (Full Text)

 12) How can I correct a mistake in one of my publications ?
Refer to your departmental contact person and to the Guidelines. Please note that the operation must be performed on the system UGOV.

 13) I can't find a publication I added in UGOV today. Why?
All new publications and updates are available in PORTO from the day after. It's important to point to pubblicazioni@polito.it the lack of any record not changed the day before.

 14) I cannot get a full text I made open access. Why?
All new attachments are subject to audit monitoring of compliance with the filing of institutional repositories. The publications are displayed in the following ways: Waiting for control copyright and Under copyright control.

 15) In a view I can't find the publication that I have inserted a few days ago. Why?
The regeneration of the views is very long and expensive in terms of CPU utilization. Each day is made the regeneration of the most commonly used views (by author, by year, type of attachment), while other views are regenerated twice a week.

16) I'm an authenticated user and i can't access a publication. Why ?
Publication with "not visible" flag are accessible, after polito authentication, ONLY to authors and repository administrators. The polito authentication for a generic internal user is not enough to access the publication. To get the publication you must ask it to the authors through the "Send a request to the author for a copy of the paper" link you find in the publication page.
